Hand-picked and aged for a long time: high-quality Rieslings, Pinot Blancs, and Pinot Noirs from steep and single vineyards.
single Vineyard wines
Today, as it has for centuries, the Heinrichshof winery shapes the work on the steep slopes of the Moselle. Exposed to frost, heat, and rain, the grapes can only be harvested by hand due to the steepness of the slopes. The small, fine winery on the Moselle produces expressive and purist wines that impress far beyond the country’s borders with their elegance, clear fruitiness, and personality.
The gray slate soil is what makes the wines so special: cool, mineral, and with a unique, subtle signature. Each wine can be traced back to the plot from which it grew.

Sonnenuhr GG »Rotlay« Riesling
Rotlay is the steepest and best vineyard on the estate within the famous Zeltinger Sonnenuhr site, which has been one of the top sites on the Moselle since 1868 and is classified as a Grand Cru (GG). Rotlay (Rot = clearing/rust-red, Lay = slate) produces an outstanding, mineral and complex Riesling
The grapes from this vineyard are harvested by hand and strictly selected. The wine is traditionally fermented in a single Fuder barrel and then aged on the lees for nine months. This gives it its special depth, great aging potential, and elegant dry character.

Sonnenuhr GG »Zulast«
The ungrafted Riesling vines from the steepest slopes of the “Zeltinger Sonnenuhr” are selectively harvested by hand. The must ferments and matures in 500-liter oak barrels from Burgundy, known as “Zulast” on the Moselle. This allows for cool, spontaneous fermentation. The premium Riesling then matures on the lees for twelve months. No fining or stabilization is carried out; the wine is filtered only once.
The Riesling Sonnenuhr GG “Zulast” is released for sale in November, one year after harvest.

Goldtröpfchen GG »TT« Riesling
As a project among fellow winegrowers, the Heinrichshof winery receives the highest quality Riesling grapes from one of the best and most famous vineyards on the Moselle: the Piesporter Goldtröpfchen. The hand-picked grapes are pressed in Zeltingen and the must ferments spontaneously in a 500-liter oak barrel from Burgundy. The wine matures for a year in a cool cellar with minimal external influence to become a truly great wine.
The Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling GG is marketed in November, one year after harvest.

Pinot Blanc »Himmelreich« Reserve
This high-quality Pinot Blanc comes from the Zeltingen single vineyard “Himmelreich.” Its character is determined by the cool Moselle climate and the highly mineral slate soil. After selective harvesting, the wine matures for ten months on the full lees in 500-liter oak barrels (tonneaux). No further treatments are carried out except for a single filtration before bottling.

Pinot Noir »Himmelreich« Reserve
This multi-award-winning Pinot Noir comes from the famous steep slope “Himmelreich” with mineral-rich slate soil and is based on selected, small-berried premium clones. The quality philosophy begins with rigorous thinning and selective hand harvesting. After classic mash fermentation, the Réserve matures for 20 months in original wooden barrels from Burgundy. This commitment to Burgundian tradition and minimal filtration guarantees a red wine of profound complexity, elegance, and density.

Zeltinger Schlossberg Réserve
Only perfect, hand-picked grapes from the best plot of the “Zeltinger Schlossberg” are used for this Réserve Riesling. Only the free-run juice (juice that flows freely without pressure) is used here. The wine is fermented spontaneously at a cool temperature and then matures for a year in a special 500-liter wooden barrel made from local Moselle oak. This barrel is probably the last of its kind to be traditionally made in Zeltingen.
The Schlossberg Réserve goes on sale in November, one year after the harvest.

Schlossberg Riesling dry
The Schlossberg is located above Zeltingen and is home to the estate’s steepest vineyards with barren blue slate soil. Despite modern technology, this steep slope requires intensive manual labor—the basis for high quality.
Only highly aromatic, healthy grapes are harvested for this wine. It is traditionally aged for seven months on the lees in large oak barrels. The result is a dry Riesling that captivates with its endless fruitiness, enormous tension, and complex, mineral flavor. It is the ideal accompaniment to fish, seafood, or white meat.

Zeltingen local wines

Dry white wines
Tonneau No5 Riesling
In recent years, the Heinrichshof winery has gained extensive experience in aging Riesling in 500-liter wooden barrels, also known as tonneaus. The wine is fermented in one of these barrels, which come from top cooperages such as FRANÇOIS FRÈRES, SEGUIN MOREAU, or MERCUREY, and then matures on the lees (sur lie) for nine months. This special aging process has caused the Riesling to lose some of its acidity, but it has gained in spice and creaminess.

Römische Kapelle Riesling
This dry Riesling grows around the historic “Roman Chapel” (“Remisch Hilliheisi”) in the Himmelreich vineyard above Zeltingen, which owes its name to a Roman “sacred site.” Through selective harvesting and slow, cool fermentation in both traditional oak barrels (Fuder) and stainless steel tanks, this wine develops its light, elegant character. The Riesling captivates with subtle peach notes and an unusually mild acidity. It is dry, mineral, and wonderfully reflects its slate origins.

Semi-dry white wines
Der Herbe Heinrich Riesling
This semi-dry Riesling from steep slopes is dedicated to the grandfather and founder of Heinrichshof, Heinrich Griebeler. He was known for his preference for dry wines, which earned him the nickname “der herbe Hein” (the dry Hein). Its delicate flavor profile is characterized by a stimulatingly fresh citrus-peach aroma. Aging in traditional Fuder barrels and stainless steel tanks gives the wine its perfect balance: it is fruity, mineral, and radiantly elegant.

»In der Heel« Riesling Kabinett
This Riesling Kabinett comes from the historic Zeltingen parcel “In der Heel.” The name, of Celtic origin, describes the steep, southwestern-facing slopes with fine blue-gray Devonian slate. The wine is light as a feather and lively. It seduces with aromas of mirabelle plum, pear, and lime. On the palate, it captivates with lively fruitiness and an exciting balance of delicate sweetness and acidity.

Sonnenuhr Spätlese Riesling
This wonderful, semi-dry Spätlese comes from the first-class steep slope “Zeltinger Sonnenuhr.” The perfectly ripened grapes give the wine great elegance and complexity. It impresses on the nose and palate with its pleasant, full-bodied fruitiness. This Riesling is a wonderful accompaniment to food, but thanks to its finesse, it can also be enjoyed perfectly on its own or as an aperitif.

Fruity & noble sweet white wines
Himmelreich Kabinett Riesling
This Kabinett Riesling comes from the famous Zeltinger Himmelreich vineyard and was fermented spontaneously using natural yeasts. This fermentation method gives it a distinct advantage in terms of complexity and individuality.
With its light, fruity character and subtle sweetness, it is the perfect aperitif. It pairs excellently with dishes that have a slight sweetness, such as seafood, light roasts, and Asian cuisine in particular.

Schlossberg Spätlese Riesling
This classic Schlossberg Riesling was vinified as a Spätlese. Some of the grapes benefited from noble rot, which gives the wine an additional, elegant concentration.
Elegant, fruity, and mineral, it presents itself with a fine interplay of sweetness and acidity. The nose reveals notes of herbs, citrus, and fresh stone fruit. On the palate, it flatters with its spicy and mineral character. It goes well with dishes with slightly sweet sauces, Asian cuisine, or strong hard cheeses.

Sonnenuhr Auslese Riesling
This Auslese can be described as the lightest and fruitiest “dessert wine,” even though it is often recommended with cheese. The Sonnenuhr Auslese is made from highly ripe, selected grapes. Accordingly, aromas of raisins, tropical fruits, marzipan, and honey can be found in the taste.

Winemaker Peter Griebeler discovered this premium grape variety abroad and decided to plant it at his own winery in Zeltingen-Rachtig. Heinrichshof Sauvignon Blanc shines with a delicate blend of tropical fruits, stone fruits, lychee, and gooseberry. On the palate, it impresses with its dry, fruity character and pleasant acidity. Fine tannins and a slight slate minerality give it a spicy note and make it an appetizing accompaniment to food.

Chardonnay
The dry “Heinrichs Chardonnay” is characterized by a harmonious blend of finely balanced aromas. On the nose, it unfolds a bouquet of ripe apple, pear, and citrus notes, complemented by floral and subtly spicy accents. On the palate, the Chardonnay impresses with its fruity liveliness and appealing spiciness, which gives it depth. It is the ideal accompaniment to a variety of culinary delights.

Pinot Blanc
Pinot Blanc is a classic premium grape variety that has also established itself in the Mosel region in recent decades. Part of the wine is aged in new French 500-liter wooden barrels called “tonneaux.” Heinrichshof Pinot Blanc is characterized by its mild acidity and slight creaminess. The flavor profile includes aromas of yellow fruits, flowers, and almonds. It is a good accompaniment to food, ideal with white meat and fish dishes.
